Welcome to Cytoid, an open-source rhythm game where you can create, share and play your own levels! Based on the classic scanner-style gameplay and powered by the community, Cytoid provides a huge variety of musical genres to enjoy and a diverse range of gameplay design.
In Cytoid 2.0, we overhauled EVERYTHING to provide you with better gameplay & graphics, diverse gamemodes, and a much smoother community-driven experience.

I'm going to be directly comparing to Cytus 2 because this is in my opinion a free alternative to that game. Anyone can chart new levels which means there are potentially many more charts to play and more popular music from other games, anime, etc. There are of course downsides to that too. It can be hard to find easy charts so Cytoid isn't that beginner friendly. Compared to Cytus 2, Cytoid feels less polished and the levels aren't made as well as the ones in Cytus 2. Cytoid is free though!

The game is great, but it's plagued with technical issues. The latest update fixed some instability problems, but added a much worse bug where after playing for a few minutes the screen glitches out (as in, it looks like it's physically broken) and the phone locks up - I had to go into sleep to get out of it. This happened three times, and reinstalling didn't help. I've played Cytoid on and off since 2017 and love it, but I can't play it like this. (Phone's a 2024 Moto G5 power if it helps.)

theres. a bug in some songs that just glitches and makes you miss. like the screen freezes and playback between the first frame and last frame really fast? plz fix . good game overall
